Jenifer Marcoux

A St. Paul, Minnesota native, Marcoux has been greatly influenced by the impressionistic paintings of John Singer Sargent. She strives to incorporate the eloquence of his imagery into her personal vision of beauty. Marcoux’s works consistently reflect her dedication to expressing sophistication and diversity in contemporary art.

Marcoux works with a wide range of media. She mixes acrylics, pastels, charcoal and pencil to develop the surface to a striking finish. The play of light in the landscape has continually intrigued Marcoux’s work, inspiring her to search for the many solutions to describe the ever changing panorama. “Each time I think I have accomplished my goal to recreate the glowing beauty of the light, I see a new sunset or sunrise which sends me back into the studio to pursue another effect.”
